ArtResin is ASTM certified (D-4236) non-toxic, non-hazardous, non-flammable, as there are no VOCs / fumes produced. ArtResin has only a low odour and is applicator friendly. However, as it still contains a small amount of Bisphenol A, it is recommended that you work in a well ventilated area.
We strongly recommend wearing protective respirator masks when working with this resin due to the fumes emitted during the curing process. We recommend getting our reusable respirator mask with organic vapour cartridges as they can filter out resin fumes.
Some students have remarked that using ArtResin without a respirator would result in headaches. If you are extremely sensitive to resins, and prefer not to use a respirator, we recommend using Non-Toxic 2-in-1™ instead which is completely free from Bisphenol A.
With its superior anti-yellowing properties, ArtResin is ideal for clear coating of artworks. It can also be mixed with resin pigments for resin pours. This resin can be readily pigmented by the addition of any resin pigments sold in our online store. Adding a drop of resi-BLAST will aid in creating cells and lacing effects.
As it dries soft, it may not be suitable for castings of small or thin items as such jewellery pendants (will bend a lot when cured). Hence, we recommend using ArtResin only for artwork coating and resin pours.
