Terrazzo & Marble Jewellery Starter Kit - Mixing Tools Included

Learn to create nostalgic terrazzo patterns and beautiful marble effects in your designs!

Made for beginners, this handy starter kit contains non-toxic, eco-friendly SmileStone™ (opaque water-based acrylic resin), high quality artist powder pigments, crushed glass, food-grade sealant and other tools to create your very own unique terrazzo and/or marble jewellery. A colour wheel is also included to guide you in expanding your colour range.

It comes with an online video guide so you can enjoy the wonderful process of playing with resin! Simply scan the QR code included in the kit or refer to the video below to get started.

 Each Terrazzo & Marble Jewellery starter kit consists of:

• 700g SmileStone™ Powder and Liquid (Water-based acrylic resin)
• 6 x 5ml Artist powder pigments
• 6 x 5ml Crushed glass
• 2 x Medium-sized jewellery pendants silicone mould
• 1 x Non-toxic food grade beeswax
• 6 x Premium plated brass earring hoops (Nickel-free, lead-free)
• 2 x Necklace stainless steel chain with lobster clasp and extension (Nickel-free, lead-free)
• 3 x Premium plated brass jump rings (Nickel-free, lead-free)
• 10 x Mixing cups
• 10 x Stir sticks (Mix of wide and thin)
• 1 x Satay stick
• 1 x Transparency sheet
• 1 x Coarse and fine wet sandpaper

Can you recommend any other materials or tools that I may need for terrazzo or marble art projects?

Please take note that you will need a weighing scale to accurately measure the amount of SmileStone™ you need to use, which is not included in the kit. 

SmileStone™ liquid and powder are best mixed with our high-shear mixing blade (fixed onto a hand drill). Mixing SmileStone™ with a blade will help to reduce the formation of air bubbles and ensure that the mix is smooth and free from lumps. The mixing blade is also essential for proper dispersion of powder pigments into the mixture. Improper dispersion of pigment often results in a mottled (spotted) look.

A pestle and mortar is always handy to break up your terrazzo chips into smaller pieces.

 

About SmileStone™

SmileStone™ is an opaque (white) water-based acrylic resin material ideal for casting jewellery, coasters, planters and other decorative products. Due to its stone-like texture, it is perfect for creating terrazzo and marble effects in your designs.

It is non-toxic, safe to use at home and contains no solvents or VOC’s. It has high UV and heat resistance (up to 120°C), making it suitable for indoor and outdoor use. In comparison to Jesmonite which has a short working time (of 3 to 5 minutes), SmileStone™ offers a user-friendly working time of 10 to 20 minutes.

Specifications

• Mix ratio 2.5 : 1 parts Base powder to Activator liquid (ratio by weight)
• Working time: Approximately 10 to 20 minutes
• Demould time: Approximately from 1 to 2 hours (depending on size) 
• Full cure for full strength: Approximately 2 to 24 hours.

 

Shelf Life

SmileStone™ has an infinite shelf life, as long as you keep the containers air-tight and store it in a cool, dry environment.
