HeatResist™ is our go-to resin when creating items that require high heat resistance and hardness. As other resins may cure soft when they come into contact with moisture, alcohol inks and tints, we always use HeatResist™ if we require a sturdier cast.

HeatResist™ is an optically clear epoxy resin system formulated with excellent UV stability and a long working time of up to 80 minutes (depending on size). HeatResist™ is suitable for coating and casting of small objects (up to 20mm deep or <1 litre) that require hardness, durability and surface heat resistance of 80 to 95°C. It is ASTM certified non-toxic, solvent-free and safe for incidental contact with food once fully cured. If used as a clear coating, amine blush may occur. This resin has a low odour.

This resin can be readily pigmented by the addition of any resin pigments sold in our online store. Adding a drop of resi-BLAST will aid in creating cells and lacing effects.

A product brochure containing instructions will be included.

Key Advantages

  • Low viscosity
  • Long working time
  • Great bubble release
  • High heat resistance
  • UV-resistant
  • VOC-free, solvent-free
  • Nonylphenol-free
  • Safe for food contact

Recommended for

  • Coating & shallow casting of objects that require surface heat resistance of 80-95°C

Specifications

Note: Due to its long open time, a phenomenon known as amine blush may occur if the resin is used as a clear coating. This effect tends to occur in high humidity or windy conditions / aircon. To mitigate this, you may pre-warm the resin (Part A) before mixing it with the hardener (Part B).

Shelf Life

When stored under dry and cool conditions in sealed packaging, the resin has a shelf life of 2 years. Once opened, the shelf life is 1 year. However, resin does not actually expire. When it is reaching the end of its shelf life, it simply oxidises (turns yellow). Oxidised resin can still be used for pigmented resin pieces.

Safety

Adult supervision required. Keep out of reach of children. Follow product usage instructions included with the product and wear personal protective equipment. For more information on safety, please refer to the SDS available below.
