OceanCast™ is a high clarity, low viscosity resin (400-1000 mPa.S) suitable for super deep and large casts, such as casting river table tops or other large-scale artworks. Due to its low exothermic properties, you can cast up to a maximum depth of 300mm and / or 20kg per pour*.
OceanCast™ is by far the best deep casting resin we have ever used in our many years of working with resin. With its advanced formulation, you can achieve bubble-free casts without the need for for a vacuum machine. It has a high UV resistance that can keep your resin casts clear (non-yellowing) for a long time.
This low viscosity resin has a moderate shore hardness of 82D and a heat resistance of 80°C.
Low odour, solvent-free.
Mix ratio: 3:1 by volume or weight
Working time: Up to 1 hour
Touch dry: 24-48 hours (depending on volume)
Full cure: 7 days (longer time sis required if casting depth is not so high)
*Take note that both the depth and volume of the pour will affect the performance of the resin. If casting up to 300mm depth, total volume must be less than 20kg; if casting up to 20kg, the maximum depth must be less than 300mm. It is recommended that you pour in multiple layers for best results. You may perform a small test prior to working on your large-scale project.
