A fantastic introduction to the Jesmonite range of products, this AC100 starter kit contains everything you need to get started.
Jesmonite AC100 is a water-based composite material
used to make decorative moulded objects.
It is safe to use and contains no solvents or VOC’s.
Perfect for a beginner or those keen to explore Jesmonite further, you will find everything you need to make 4 to 6 trinket trays, including pigments, re-usable silicone moulds, and step-by-step instructions guiding you through each stage.
In each Starter Kit pack, you will get:
With this 850g kit, you will have enough material to produce 4 squares or 6 hexagon trinket trays.
Can you recommend any other materials or tools that I may need?
Please take note that you will need a weighing scale to accurately measure the amount of Jesmonite you need to use, which is not included in the kit.
Jesmonite liquid and powder are best mixed with our high-shear mixing blade (fixed onto a hand drill). Mixing Jesmonite with a blade will help to reduce the formation of air bubbles and ensure that the mix is smooth and free from lumps. The mixing blade is also essential for proper dispersion of Jesmonite pigments into the Jesmonite mixture. Improper dispersion of pigment often results in a mottled (spotted) look.
AC100 has a short working time of 3 to 5 minutes.
You may extend your working time by adding a small amount of Jesmonite retarder (for AC100) to the mixture.
We recommend sealing and waterproofing your artworks with our non-toxic food grade beeswax sealer, especially if you are planning to use them as coasters. You may get our thick silicone moulds specially designed for casting Jesmonite coasters. You can also seal your artworks with Jesmonite acrylic sealer.
If you are planning to make terrazzo patterns, you will need to get our set of coarse and fine sandpaper.
Note: The coasters and pendants shown in the photos are made by us using Jesmonite AC100. They are for illustration purposes and not included in the kit.
Please take note that you will need a weighing scale to accurately measure the amount of material you need to use, which is not included in the kit.
